Mission

The UMBC Political Science Council of Majors strives to promote a sense of fellowship among Political Science students and provide a means of interaction between the students and faculty of the department. In addition, PSCOM works in conjunction with the department to increase distribution of political science materials available to students and increase awareness of alternative educational and career options. PSCOM is not affiliated with any outside organization or political party. All majors are encouraged to join.

Pi Sigma Alpha (PSA)

Mission

Pi Sigma Alpha is the national Political Science Honor society. The Omicron Eta Chapter at UMBC was founded in 1984. The purpose of the organization is to recognize academic achievement and to promote worthwhile extracurricular activities in Political Science.

Mission

UMBC Model United Nations strives to educate students and the community about the topics, tasks and bodies of the United Nations. Our team attends one conference a semester. The location for the conferences is New York during the Spring semester and Chicago during the Fall semester. The club is active in educational outreach to neighboring high schools and colleges by hosting several simulations each year. The club is also an active participant each year in raising funds for UNICEF.
