We are the 1st ever 3rd level skydiving club in the Republic of Ireland! Skydive UL was formed by Damien cahill (a 3rd year Business Studies student at the time) in late 2006, along with Daniel Leahy, and was formally recognised by the University early in 2007.
Skydive UL's home dropzone is located just 20 minutes from UL, at Skydive Ireland.
The locality of the dropzone is a major advantage as it allows the student skydivers advance in the sport without taking to much time off college. Especially since Skydive Ireland can accommodate the clubs jumping on Wednesdays - the official day given by the University for students to persue Clubs and Societies activities.
The club has gone from strength to strength ever since, even winning The UL Students Union Best New and Improved Club of 2008.
