Microlight flying in Nîmes at the Nîmes Courbessac airfield     WEIGHTSHIFT (ULM PENDULAIRE) FLIGHTSCHOOL 3 AXIS FLIGHTSCHOOL (ULM trois axes) We have over 25 years flightschool experience. We have the knowledge and the capability to teach you safe microlight flying in little time; anyway faster than anywhere else. Thanks to a very performant pedagogical system, which is in use over ten's of years and a fast adaption of your flight instructor to your capacities, we ensure an average of ten flight hours = some 20 lessons to go solo (in good weather conditions). Most often a young novice takes between 5 and 10 flight hours to go solo, while an older trainee may take more than 10 hours with his F.I. Also licenced pilots from other aeronautical disciplines take half of the time of a novice of their age to master a microlight aircraft.
A flight course of 2 weeks being ideal and which is possible during the summer season (this we call a fast course which is to be reserved well in advance, with flights in the morning and during the evening, the day remaining available for tourism) Practice shows that most of our students are not available all the time (also because of unsuitable weather conditions). That's why they take several month's to get solo. Our schooling comprises radio communication, employing the correct french aeronautical phrases. Once solo they earn their licence in 5 more flight hours, whereafter they can pretend to take the responsability to give their friends a ride after 15 more flight hours; this autorization being delivered after an exam by their F.I. which is focussed on emergency situations and perfection of flight. In France your own Flight Instructor has the autorization to sign your exams. We also propose (advanced or standard) flight courses for pilots or students who own their machine, (trikes or 3 axis) and we can advice those pilots who would like to acquire their 'ULM' (second hand or new), depending on budget, geographical situation and so on.
The advanced course is focussed on offering you the ease of mind knowing that you can cope with emergency situations and stress and also the use of the VHF and XPR in the many controlled airspaces in the south of France. In the mean time you will be enjoying the beautiful landscape of the area around Nîmes.
To pretend to fly solo you need to pass a theoretical exam with multiple choice questions, organised every 2 month at the regional/local civil aviation offices. This exam is based on the book : Manuel du Pilote ULM,( éditions Cépadues) also the MCQ's are available on CD,and the web:please ask us.

We propose the federal licence and insurance (FFPlUM), an insurance being obligatary to fly an 'ULM' A medical exam by your regular practitionner not excluding microlight flying is necessary for your first inscription to the federal licence and insurance (only)
