Subject: Participating in Scheduling for Fall 2012 Classes

Class schedules are currently being developed for all divisions/departments at both Cypress and Fullerton colleges for the 16 week Fall 2012 semester. There appears to be a District mandated requirement that:

1. Both the schedules at Cypress and Fullerton must be the same.
2. There will be specific and mandatory passing times that must be inserted into any schedule.
3.  All divisions and departments must adhere to these requirements and there will be limited allowances for special programs.

If these are the requirements being imposed on departments/divisions scheduling processes, then there may be a systematic attempt to violate article 4 of our employment contract.

If you have been working with your department/division on a class schedule for Fall 2012 and you feel that you have been denied a bona fide opportunity for participation in the decision making process (article 4.2.2) please email me at dacraig@gmail.com 

I have included a copy of a proposed schedule created by the Language Arts division at Cypress College as a resource for the discussions within your division.
