The text is too small and hard to read!

posted ‎‎Feb 19, 2009 9:27 AM‎‎ by World Language Lab

If the text on this site is too small to read, look up to the top of your screen. You should see the word "View" in your menu bar. Click on the View menu and put your mouse over the "Zoom" menu item to zoom in or zoom out. If you are working in Safari, select "Make text bigger" or "Make text smaller". You might want to memorize the keyboard shortcut so that you can zoom in and zoom out anytime you find small text on the internet.

Note to parents

Google dumbing us down?

In this controversial article, Nicholas Carr argues that the way we consume information on the Internet may be changing the way that we read, even the way that we think. Do you think it is getting harder for us to read longer prose because we are so used to reading short text messages, blog posts, and news articles? Carr thinks we should carefully guard our time so that we can spin down and focus on just one thing at a time instead of multi-tasking all the time. What do you think of his advice?
