UB Talker is a project to which we have contributed in a software engineering curriculum at the University at Buffalo. The goal of the UB Talker project is to create an an affordable alternative to commerically available Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. To help speech-impaired individuals communicate, the UB Talker project provides an agile user interface to commercially available technology. Development of the UB Talker has lead to commercially available software from Applied Sciences Group. For information about purchasing the Talker from Applied Sciences Group, please follow this link: Applied Sciences Group has developed the Talker for use in a system to enable veterans in Florida: Below is a list of several commercially available AAC devices. |
