Are you interested in the space program? Want a chance to practice some of the engineering or programming skills you’ve learned in class, or maybe even pick up some new ones? Or maybe you’re that student that’s always correcting the errors in the newspaper or instruction manuals. Interested in some practical applications of mathematics and physics? “What do I do with this degree once I get it?” Look no further! If you’re interested in building your resume, getting practical “on the job” experience, or just looking for some friends and something to do on campus the Apollo Project is for you! We’re building an Apollo Command Module flight simulator, and we can use all the help we can get. When you join the Apollo Project you’ll have many opportunities to work with other students and professionals in your field of interest, but will also get the chance to work alongside students in other disciplines. Our project is interdisciplinary, highlighting the connection between science, engineering, and liberal arts fields. You’ll learn new skills, make friends and connections, gain “real world” hands-on experience, and get the chance to explore your future career before you get too far. Our project is organized into specialized teams to handle each part of the project. Once every two weeks we all meet together to check our progress and discuss project changes and news. Below is a list of our teams and some open positions we currently need to fill. Feel free to click around to the team pages, check out our blog, view our status reports, and see what interests you most. If you find a team or a group you’d like to join, contact the team lead via email. We’re more than happy to help you get started. Any questions? Feel free to contact Zach Groff, our Program Manager, or any of our other team leads at any time. |
