New Project Meeting Format

posted Jul 6, 2010 8:01 AM by Zach Groff

Project Meetings are getting a face lift this summer.

Starting this Friday, July 9th, 2010, the project will be hosting new member orientation and project wide meetings separately.

Project Wide Meetings will continue to give status updates of the project for current and perspective members, members of the media, and other interested parties, as well as answer questions regarding the project. It should be noted that a project overview will no longer be included. For those new/perspective members who come to a Project Wide Meeting, a Project or Team Lead will give a brief overview for the visitor but the visitor is encouraged to attend the next orientation for more in depth information.

New Member Orientation will include a project overview, introduction of team leads, project and team objectives, timelines, and other important information for new project members. Examples will be given of accomplishments and current work. After the project portion of the orientation is over, the members will meet with their new team lead's and learn more about the mission of each team, their current work, and past accomplishments. The first new member orientation will be held within the first two weeks of fall classes. Date and time TBD.

We believe this new format will help increase retention and use of time with the project wide meetings, support the needs of new members, and help new members more quickly and effectively integrate into the project.
