    Meeting Information

     
    UAB ANST meets twice per month, unless otherwise specified. Monthly Meetings are informational sessions and topical (e.g., student presentations), while Monthly Events feature activities.
     

     
    Monthly Meetings:
     
    The first Thursday of every month
    5:30 - 6:30 pm
    Campbell Hall, 216
    Unless otherwise specified! 
     
    Monthly Meetings consist of the following structure:
    • Call to Order: opening and sign-up sheet, welcoming of new members (2-3 minutes).
    • Minutes: coverage of what was done last meeting (5-10 minutes).
    • Forum: groups discussion of concerns and issues (15-20 minutes).
    • Topic: education or presentation (20-25 minutes).
    • Close: wrap-up and next meeting reminder (2-3 minutes).

    Monthly Events feature:
    • Speakers: past topics include neuroimaging, internship/postdoc training, professional issues, pediatric assessment, therapy in neuropsychology, forensic issues, neuropathology and neuroimaging, and more.
    • Tours: for example, during one event members took a tour of UAB's MEG lab at the Kirklin Clinic.
    • Volunteering: ANST members have volunteered for the Alabama Head Injury Foundation, Alabama Psychological Association, Alzheimer's of Central Alabama, and the Lakeshore Foundation.
    • Fun: members meet once each month and discuss current issues at our Neuropsychology Journal Club, view interesting and provocative films at our Annual Neuropsychology Movie Night, and enjoy dinners out at local Birmingham eateries!
