    Brainy Quotes!

If the human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn't.

    Emerson M. Pugh

The brain is a wonderful organ. It starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get into the office.

Want to become a member of UAB ANST?

To be a member of ANST and UAB ANST, there are only FIVE steps! They include:

Join APA and Division 40. ANST is run through APA and Division 40. Membership in these organizations is necessary to become a member of ANST. Although not required for membership in ANST, it is helpful for you to join the International Neuropsychological Society (INS) and/or the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN) if you can. Fees are greatly reduced for individuals with student status and benefits include receiving scholarly journals, updates on professional issues, and networking opportunities.

Join ANST by signing up on the Listserv and introducing yourself to others. A listserv is an electronic mailing list that professionals often use to consult and share information with each other. Visit the national ANST website for information on how to join and introduce yourself to other ANST members around America. It is free of charge to join this listserv. So, join and e-mail away!

Join UAB ANST and fill out a membership form. The form can be found and downloaded on this page. Once completed, turn in the form either at a UAB ANST meeting or you may turn it in to either co-representative's mailbox in the Psychology Department office, located in Campbell Hall, room 415. Membership to UAB ANST is currently free of charge.

Attend UAB ANST meetings and get involved! This organization depends and grows on YOUR intiative and involvement. The more engaged and active you are in UAB ANST, the more experience and knowledge you will gain. You can also assist your fellow students, network more, and help UAB gain more national recognition. Feel free to bring any ideas to the meetings. This organization is built around its members' needs and ideas.

Bookmark the UAB ANST Website and check it frequently! New announcements will be periodically posted on the website, as well as rotations in the Student Spotlight, meeting notes and materials, and of course there is a current schedule of all campus neuropsychology-related actvities such as Case Conference and Neurology Grand Rounds. New meeting dates and times will also be posted. Please also check the ANST website periodically as well although updates here are less frequent.

Check, check, check, check, and check?
