Spoke Like a Pike

Your girl friend
spoke like a pike
with a fly
down her throat.
She breathes water;
just a snake
with fish fins,
after your lure.

Air breather,
dark is dark.
Below the lilly pads
you will drown.

Treble hook,
flash of sunlight
off your spoon.
Swallowed you;
broke your line.
Reel you back in,
I can not
fit the net
round you this time.

You the bait
on the hook.
Bait on hook.
She's just fishy to me.
