STUDENTS: Welcome to the website for Mr. Tynan's World History class. This is the place to find any information you might have missed if you were absent or fell asleep during class--which you would never do, of course! These webpages are intended to be another tool to help you achieve the standards for this course as determined by the State of Hawaii Department of Education. So, with that in mind, I have a few requests:
1. Please access these 24/7 whenever you need some help. 2. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or you notice an error on any of my notes. Hey, teachers are human, too--most of us, anyway. 3. You are still expected to take notes in class. Bummer, I know. 4. It is always better if you read your textbook before we cover the material--just to make sure you "get it" all. 5. I'm usually here an hour before and after school if you want some individual assistance. You are responsible for your learning, so the ball is in your court! 6. Your textbook has a companion website, where you will find all sorts of resources including self-tests and extended learning activities. Simply click on the following to visit this incredibly valuable website: http://www.phschool.com/webcodes10/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.gotoWebCode&wcprefix=mkk&wcsuffix=1000
PARENTS: Mahalo for taking the time to check these webpages out. They say there is nothing that helps a child succeed more than having a parent actively involved in their education! So, even though your child may not appreciate it now, they are going to be better off because of it. Along those lines, teacher effectiveness improves when there is good communication between home and school, so I ask you to please email me with any comments, questions or suggestions. Mahalo nui loa! |
