We are Two Guys, Two Trucks Moving, a small locally owned and operated professional moving company located in Iowa City, Iowa. We have been in business since 2003. A small core of well trained, experienced, and responsible movers will provide fast, safe, and reliable service. We offer reasonable rates for top quality service and pay our movers higher than a living wage. Our movers know what they are doing and do it right. Our equipment includes moving blankets/pads, handtrucks, four wheel dollies, stretch film, plastic mattress covers, ratchet straps, hump straps, and basic tools. Our pricing is standard and fully disclosed. We do not have any hidden fees. Email confirmations are sent out for all scheduled service. Our local service area includes the Iowa City, North Liberty, Tiffin, Coralville, Solon, Hills, and West Branch. We provide service for local moves, intrastate (Iowa), and interstate (nationwide) and operate Mon-Fri from 8am-2pm, Sat from 8am-6pm, and Sun from 10am-6pm.

SERVICE AREA

Our local service area includes Iowa City, North Liberty, Tiffin, Coralville, Solon, Hills, and West Branch. We also provide service for regional, intrastate, and interstate moves.

HOURLY MINIMUMS AND CREW SIZE

We have a two hour minimum for all local moves and a four hour minimum for all intrastate and interstate moves (charged only for active labor). We provide service with two, three, four, or five movers.

PACKING SERVICES

We have a packing service available at our full service rates (see below) + $6.00/box (various sizes provided-all boxes include packing paper and tape). You may always opt to provide your own boxes and packing materials as well.

TRANSPORTATION FEES

No travel charge for moves within 15 miles of the Iowa City area. $4.00 a mile for all moves located at a distance greater than 15 miles from Iowa City.

LONG DISTANCE MOVING

Intrastate and Interstate moves are charged $7.50 per loaded mile (one-way distance between origin and destination locations only) in addition to the rates specified above. Walk through estimates are required (free of charge). We require booking with at least 10 days advance notice; we cannot accommodate last minute requests for long distance moves.

LABOR ONLY MOVING-with limited EQUIPMENT

$130/hour (2 movers-two hour minimum). Additional movers at $65/hour-each. Minimum: $260

You provide the rental truck, trailer, or mobile storage container and we provide handtrucks/dollies, forearm forklifts/hump straps, and basic tools. This service also includes in-house moving. We provide the muscle and the moving expertise. You provide moving blankets, stretch film (if desired), plastic mattress bags (if desired), and ratchet straps/tie down rope. No rental truck driving provided. This service is great for loading/unloading your provided rental truck or mobile storage unit when you just need a little extra help on a DIY move.

LABOR ONLY MOVING-with all EQUIPMENT

$150/hour (2 movers-two hour minimum). Additional movers at $75/hour-each. Minimum: $300

You provide the rental truck, trailer, or mobile storage container and We provide all necessary moving equipment (including moving blankets/pads, handtrucks, four wheel dollies, stretch film, plastic mattress covers, ratchet straps, hump straps, and basic tools). This service also includes in-house moving. No rental truck driving provided. This service is great for moving service with your provided rental truck when you just require movers to help with the heavy furniture and will handle boxes/small items on your own.

FULL SERVICE MOVING-TRUCK with all EQUIPMENT

$150/hour (2 movers-two hour minimum). Additional movers at $75/hour-each.

16' box truck ($175/flat fee for the move duration) or 20' box truck ($200/flat fee for the move duration) or 26' box truck ($225/flat free for the move duration). Minimum: $475

We provide the labor, the enclosed box truck, and all necessary moving equipment (...including moving blankets/pads, handtrucks, four wheel dollies, stretch film, plastic mattress covers, ratchet straps, hump straps, and basic tools). This service is great when you require that most aspects of your move be organized and serviced by an experienced company. This is the most convenient option and we strive to make it the most efficient as well.

Disclaimer: Two Guys, Two Trucks Moving in a locally owned and operated moving company. For your protection we offer “released value” limited damage liability coverage, a no-cost option that provides minimal protection, requiring us by law to cover any damages at 60 cents per pound, per article. “Released value” means your household items are covered against damage at $.60/lb per individual item based on weight regardless of the actual value of the item(s). This does NOT apply to any furniture made of particle board/press board/composite wood which is low quality, low grade furniture.
