Volunteering

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
There are many ways to fulfill your two volunteer hours a month, below
are some that will need people continually during the growing season.

COMPOSTING
Come 'pan' for ‘black gold', that is compost. It's worth its weight in gold (Union Sq Greenmarket sells it for $1 per pound).  We promise you, you won't get dirty and stinky, only fresh air, sun and a little muscle tone. It will be fun and a learning experience. Please e-mail  TC-COMPOST@ GOOGLEGROUPS.COM

TREE WATERING
Two Coves Community Garden has 27 lovely flowering trees planted around its parameter. They were planted by ‘Million Trees NYC’ in 2010. These trees need our help -- so their roots can grow down to where they can help themselves to the ground water below and so they'll be strong against storm winds. Garden volunteers water the trees, improve the condition of the soil with compost, and mulch, etc. every other week or so (schedule depends on weather and availability). This Fall (2011) we will also be building/installing tree guards around ea. tree. If you would like to join in, please click here and someone will get back to you asap. The trees will thank you!
