On Saturday, October 23rd, Two Coves hosted the yearly It's My Park Day Harvest Festival. There were hay rides (on the compost trike!), apple bobbing and compost sifting contests, even pumpkin painting for the young and young at heart! Prizes were given out to various plotholders for a variety of criteria, and everyone enjoyed the chili that Astoria CSA made, as well as the pot luck feast and grill. In addition, a lot of squares were knitted for Warm Up America, a knitting initiative designed to provide warm blankets for the needy. Later in the afternoon the artist Ursula Clark gave a speech about her sculpture "Sun Charm", located on the west end of the garden. Ursula Clark speaks about her piece. |
