Bellis lost her kittens somewhere along her pregnancy this time. After bleeding a little bit from her uterus, I decided to spay her. Now she can enjoy her retirement with Boris, and leave all the hormonal, reproductive things to her daughter. Here's to you Bellis, mother of the prettiest Birman kittens that I have seen.
Thanks from me, and I'm sure from all of those new owners lucky enough to have one (or two) of your kittens in their lives.

Bellis is pregnant again, and should give birth around the 5th of May. :) I think there might be only one or two, but she wouldn't really hold still to feel properly. Otherwise there seems to be a little tension between Bellis and Bellatrix. The little witch might have to leave home while Bellis has her kittens.

Yes, the kitties made it to the show in Jyllinge, and it went pretty well. You can read about the results under Show. I was happy with the results, but do think that my kitties should have all been acknowledgede as the most beautiful in the world... |

Bellis has been mated again to the father of the B litter. New kittens in about 9 weeks :). This is likely to be Bellis' last time as a mother, with Bellatrix continuing as the breeding queen in the future. I am hoping for three kittens this time, as this a suitable number for Bellis.
However they turn out I am not sure if they can live up to the predecessors, but we shall see...

Both Betelgeuse and Bellatrix are doing really well. Betelgeuse is a petite little fella (or looks small next to the giant that is his sister). I think that both have lots of potential to be show cats, and they are both extremely social little things. Bellatrix likes to attack your socks, and bites pretty hard when she is playing. Betelgeuse likes to jump vertically up in the air when he is attacking his mum's tail. Both of them prefer to sleep next to me than next to Bellis (I'm not sure that she is so impressed!)
Well done Bellis, once again you have produced some of the prettiest Birman kittens in Denmark (or on planet Earth...)
:)

she's a lover and kisser -
This translates roughly from Danish to:
The
first thing you think about Persille is BREATHTAKING her personality
is easy-going and relaxed, mild and gentle. BUT she can be assertive,
especially when she wants a treat - and she will let you know. She will
sit beside my ear and SCREAM that it is now that she will have a treat,
or some wet cat food. And of course, if she wants it she gets it. She
can hardly wait, and runs in zig-zags between my feet, so you have to
watch out that you don't step on her. She is unusually friendly and and
loves to sit on her mum's tummy and look me in the eyes. She will sit
there for ages and tell me LONG stories. She is EXTREMELY playful -
loves to play with paperballs and measuring tapes - shop bought toys
hold zero interest - it is much more fun to play with simple
things. She is calm but very curious- and loves to play hide and seek in
cupboards and drawers, but the very best thing is to lie under the duvet
and be cuddlede to sleep. ..... She plays fantastically with Florentin
- and she is the boss, and will tell him off if he's too aggressive,
which he repects immediately. She is curious and likes to meet strangers
with a few reservations. She shows no fear, and is confident in her
self. She follows me EVERYWHERE - if I'm in the kitchen, she's by my
side - in the living room etc. When I am in the shower she sits there
and inspects the water - very exciting. All in all, an unusually
adorable heartbreaker - she's a lover and kisser.

He is the most wonderful cat in the world. He loves to cuddle, sit on my lap and sleeps on me at night. Very social, and he's so easy in all ways. I have had him with me several times to my parent's house and he loves driving in the car; he just sits on my lap and looks out of the window, and plays and sleeps. He is not afraid of new places (Though he has some problems coming down the stairs in our new house :D. One step at a time and it looks very cute). And then, yeah, as you know he loves all kinds of food :)

Well the kittens are going really well, and I have pretty well left it all up to Bellis. (I regularly pet Bellis inside the nest box so the kittens associate me with a happy mum - Bellis purrs obligingly at these times!) They have only been out once to have their latest photos taken, and they now have their own webpage :) (under B litter). Both kittens are fat, warm and happy. Bellis being a supermum, always becomes very worried if the kittens start crying, and therefore I try to keep my interference to a minimum. The little boy is going to be a chocolate, the little girl may be a chocolate tortie but I am still undecided.
Well done Bellis- you're the best!!
12/11 Well Bellatrix has opened her eyes, Betelgeuse's are still firmly shut! New Pictures soon!

Yes, the B litter has finally arrived. Yesterday I performed a caesarian on Bellis. She was overdue and went into labour, but then suddenly stopped. It could be that she would have resumed later, but I wasn't taking any chances. Two healthy kittens and a confused Bellis ended up being the result. Bellis has taken to the kittens well, but she made it very clear I should sleep on the floor next to the kitten box last night. Hopefully I might be allowed back into my bed tonight! Here they are The little boy Betelgeuse (Beetlejuice) - already looking like a right little lion and the little girl Bellatrix :) |

The A litter is around 6 months old and have developed into wonderful, and extremely well loved, cats. I'm hoping to post some recent photos on their own profile pages.
Here are their current weights:
Acamar (now known as Villads): 3.76kg Albireo (now known as Prop): 3.63kg Alula (now known as Berta): 2.66 kg Alsafi (now known as Persille): 2.63 kg
All of them will end up being larger than their mum :)
As for the B litter it seems to be a little overdue.... More news soon!
