This class uses the internet, Power Point, Microsoft word, and other programs. The units are presented through guest speakers, field trips, computer usage, and class activities.

Lessons for these classes will include activities similar to those experienced in life. The curriculum includes lessons in: money

Employment Orientation
In this class you will run a food program for the school. You will select, plan, prepare, and serve meals to be offered to staff and students 2-3 times a week. Additionally, you will be responsible for any parent luncheons, and/or any other food requests for the school. You will learn how to:
Plan healthy meals
Read and follow recipes
Increase recipes
Plan shopping lists
Use cooking utensils properly
Handle food properly
Use proper sanitation procedures
Load a dishwasher
Set a table and serve quests
Elective cooking class
The elective cooking class is designed to give students hands on experiences in the kitchen. Students will be able to plan and prepare recipes as well as gain knowledge of cooking utensils, nutrition, sanitaion procedures and machinery. |
