It's really satisfying to the ego when you can say "I knew someone when..." Here are writers who have style and flair and will someday soon have you repeating that phrase:
Any three-year-old knows this rule: Me first. TW Williams is my pen name. Others know me as Chicago-area magazine journalist Tom Williams. (Yeah, it's a rather common name. Steve Goble writes fantasy, science fiction, horror, poetry and scads of nonfiction, too. He plays a mean game of Scrabble and has encyclopedic knowledge about ... well, I've lost count. Check his efforts out at www.stevegoble.com and visit the accompanying blog, which is always entertaining and often thought-provoking.
Gere McClellan writes fantasy, dark fantasy and horror and pens a weekly newspaper column. She's possibly even meaner at Scrabble and living proof that a penetrating mind, a wry sense of humor and a keen ear for the rhythms of life can come together in one stellar writer.
Jim Leckey is Irish. All those things they say about the silver-tongued Irish might be true -- or at least, in this case, the silver-penned Irish. It's not blarney, it's darn good fantasy, dark fantasy and horror. You can contact him at james_lecky@hotmail.com
Ellie Tupper knows more about beer than Steve Goble or Gere McClellan know about Scrabble. That's saying something. When she's not working with her husband to perfect tasty brews (http://www.tuppersbeers.com/ ), she's writing some of the cleverest fantasy and science fiction you could hope to find.
