Turramurra Toastmasters conducts twice yearly youth leadership programmes for Knox Grammar students. The programme is aimed at exposing students to leadership and public speaking within a framework of 7 meetings. It is only open to Knox students at this stage, however if your school or youth group would like to conduct a course then inquire with District 70 Youth Leadership Coordinator by email:

• Increased self-confidence and overcoming nervousness
• Learn speechcraft skills such as writing a speech, gestures & voice modulation.
• Adopt leadership roles such as Chairman & Toastmaster.
• How to listen effectively and critique other speakers.
• Organise their thoughts & ideas logically.
• Better preparation for university and employment applications.
  

Students are awarded a certificate of participation during the graduation session and can enter the contest to win best speaker. It's a thrilling and entertaining end to their short course which involves family and friends too!
