Toastmasters has a huge volume and range of talent in it's own ranks which makes it convenient to draw upon. However, stepping outside every once in a while is a worthwhile exercise. This is certainly the case with our Awesome Power of Voice special presentation suggested by Mavis (VPPR) and championed by Toni (VPE). And what a great night it was! Mariette Rups-Donnely from Presentation Powerhouse volunteered her time to show and tell us her learning on just how important the voice is during a presentation. Mariette talk started with types of voice with an emphasis that it didn't really matter about imperfections (and we all have them) but how we spoke. She demonstrated where we need to draw our speaking voice from and where to place it on the way out. She had is breathless... literally. These photographs were taken by Toni. Mariette Rupps-Donnelly, from
Presentation Powerhouse, was a guest speaker at our 17 March meeting. Mariette,
who has many years of experience as a theatre performer and corporate trainer,
