                                   Turkish Alphabet

The Turkish alphabet is a variant of the Latin alphabet, used for writing the Turkish language, consisting of 29 letters, a certain number of which (ç, ğ, ı, i, ö, ş, ü) have been adapted or modified for the phonetic requirements of the language. Each letter has exactly one associated sound which never changes.

There are  8 vowels (a, e, ı, i, u, ü, o, ö)  and 21 consonants (b, c, ç, d, f, g, ğ, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, r, s, ş, t, v, y, z)  in Turkish Alphabet.  In Turkish Alphabet there is no x, q and w.

Most letters are pronounced pretty much as you would expect, but some are not. Once the phonetic value of all letters is known, then it is rather easy to pronounce any word one sees or to spell any word one hears.
