This rhythm is deceptively simple.  The long pause after the first gun threw me off for a long time.  If you listen near the end of this recording, you can hear me refusing to do the call and response because "I can't even keep the rhythm straight".  I feel much better about it these days, but I still have great respect for those long pauses.
