Orbital2

A lumped-parameter model is developed. It can handle the following subsystems
  1. Gear pairs
    • Two disks that are connected with a mesh spring that represents the gear teeth.
  2. Planetary gears
    • Sun, ring and carrier may have bearings, which are represented by radial springs, that connect to ground.
    • Planets have bearings, which are represent ed by radial springs, that connect to the carrier.
  3. Inertias such as shafts and flywheels
These subsystems can be connected by torsional springs to one another.
The program outputs are
  1. Modal analysis
    • Natural frequencies
    • Displacements in a given modes shape
    • Kinetic energy in the mass elements in a given mode,
    • Potential energy in the spring elements in a given mode
  2. Forced response
    • Waterfall plot
