ASME Mission Statement

ASME was founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, which has now expanded to more than 127,000 members worldwide , including over 20,000 student members in 146 countries. ASME develops codes and standards that enhance public safety, and provides lifelong learning and technical exchange opportunities benefiting the global engineering and technology community.

The Tufts University chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers seeks to introduce its members to the mechanical engineering community through a wide array of exciting events including conferences, plant tours, and student competitions. It serves students by providing social networking events, career information and development, course guidance, and numerous learning opportunities.
