Now that the Equity Actors feel that they can go ahead and protest after making a commitment, what do they do next? Well, I don’t think that they should be able to participate or get paid for their nonunion shows if they don’t at some point protest. Another solution for this would be that people should allow actors to get paid if they do a nonunion show. I think this because if they are doing shows for the union the other directors should be honored to work with them! Well, the biggest, “what if” is if their protests just keep continuing and close down the shows. This can be possible because going back to the American Girl example, their theater just recently closed down. Was it because of the equity protests or something else? That question is undecided. Mattel Company now owns American Girl, so it could possibly be that decision that closed the theater. Those are some possible outcomes of the Equity Theatre problem.
