                   Now that the actors and stage managers who get paid in a special way, they still have to know that they can’t do nonunion shows. I think that one way to solve the problem that people are protesting about being involved in nonunion shows and they should prohibit that. For an example not too long ago in New York the American Girl Theater was involved in a problem related to this. In 2006, the theater faced some problems because 14 of the 18 actors and stage managers voted for them to join the union but both sides didn’t think it was fair. They have been on daily strikes, and I don’t think it was fair that they could complain after already signing a contract. I also think that the directors of the union should stop the actors and stage managers from protesting, and take a stand and stand up for what they believe in. Another way to solve this is to only give union license to paid, professional actors/ stage managers, because if they sign a contract they need to perform or the directors should be able to trust them.
