I care greatly about Equity theatre it supports the freedom of speech, because if they don’t get their pay they will stand up for themselves. Not only does it support freedom of speech but also thought, and actions. They are strongly opposed discrimination of any possible kind and I think this is a great thing because they base their employment on ability and what they can do to help the job. The only worry of Equity is that they need protection of their members in the business of theatre, because of the concern of welfare.

This is also an important topic to learn about because it affects how the members are allowed to do certain shows. This is only because once someone is an Equity member; they cannot work with a contract that is nonunion. But one way it is possible is to arrange a way to have a special guest star in a nonunion production. I think this is a good idea except sometimes the actors are the ones who break the rules of the union. This happens often in some cases.
