About The Amazing Race: Welcome to the home of the 2011-2012 Truman Elementary fundraiser. This 14-day event begins October 3 and continues until October 17. Truman's goal is to raise $20,000 and to outfit each classroom with a SMART Document Camera or and iPad. Each class at Truman is competing to be the top-selling class of the school and to win the Amazing Race. The winning class in each grade division will be rewarded a class pizza party with Mr. Howe. Each day during the fundraiser, students will watch a new Amazing Race episode detailing the school's progress toward the goal and class standings. Thunderbird students receive a candy grab for every two items they sell or every one $10 donation that they collect. To receive the candy grab, students simply bring up their SUPER-SELLER vouchers or DANDY-DONATOR vouchers to the stage during lunchtime. Every two SUPER-SELLER vouchers or one DANDY-DONATOR voucher grants the student as big of a grab as his or her hand can manage. Every student who sells 35 items or more will have his or her choice of an iPod shuffle, a scooter, a doll house, a rip stick, a lego set, or a ride in a limousine. These big-ticket prizes are reserved for anyone and everyone who qualify for them--not just the top sellers.  As stated previously, the goal of The Amazing Race - Truman is to outfit each classroom with a SMART Document Camera or an iPad.
