SUPREME COMMANDERS
Volunteer safety patrollers from Truman's fifth and sixth grades make up Truman's Supreme Commanders. They volunteer their talents to keeping Truman students, teachers, and parents safe each day. They are captained by Mr. Thackeray, and they are on duty mornings and afternoons. They took an oath when sworn in by the West Valley Police Department and promised to serve Truman diligently. They live up to that pledge each time they put on their uniforms.
The Truman student body has been counseled to view our safety patrollers as the "Supreme Commanders" - the ultimate authority for safety while on duty. They represent the school administration and West Valley crossing authorities when they serve. Our Thunderbirds must listen to and obey our safety patrollers just as they would the principal, the teachers, or our crossing guards. |
