- Reviewed Superintendent Bates' presentation of education in the 21st century
- Discussed what Truman does exceptionally well (What "sells" our school):
- Open mindedness (the sky is the limit)
- Technology has changed dramatically for the better
- T-time for interventions of students who need help.
- Meet the Masters
- Convenient location
- Expertise of the entire staff is very wide (ranging from regular ed to self-contained units)
- Communication
- Discussed what Truman should do differently or more of:
- Interventions for students who are very ready for a faster pace
- Involvement of local business
- Planned a survey to the community to get input on the same two questions: What does Truman do well? What should Truman do differently? The survey will be made by Mr. Howe but sent out by Liz Isom as the chairperson for the Community Council.
