What's the Best About Our Club?

We try to give each boy a chance to grow and learn. If he wants to become an Eagle Scout the opportunity is there for him. The bar is set high for each boy to earn the Eagle Scout Rank. If the boy would like to come to learn and have fun that will be fine as well. Each boy is allowed to make up his own mind about advancement. Some in the troop will make Eagle before 18 while others will stay in the troop until 18 to help the younger scouts and have a good time. We have young men who stay around until they leave college to help the troop out due to the fact they are having a good experience in the troop. They also want to make sure the younger scouts have the same chance.

Webelos Woods November 11-13, 2011 We will take part in Webelos Woods again this year. The date is November 11-13, 2011. If we get rain I am hoping to roast a pig on a spit for the boys. I hope they will enjoy this as much as I think they will. We have talked about doing this for several years and this year I got the chance to get a small pig for the boys. I hope everything will go smoothly.

October 7-9, 2011 Buescher State Park, TX This will be our next camp out. If this park is still close due to the dry conditions will will take the bikes and camp at Bryan Lake.

Delivery of Food to the Church Pantry with the Help of Lack's Furniture Food deliverd ~3500lbs to the Church Pantry. Seven different groups collected food for this food drive. Crocket elementary Bonham elementary Brazos Valley Stichery Brazos Bells(red hat ladies) Business Women Troop 743Crocket Elemetary was 1st followed by Bonham Elementry and Troop 743 in 2nd place for the most food collected.To all the groups that collected food for the Brazos Church Pantry, we say "Thank You". We also wish to give a "Thank You" to Lack's Furniture Store for allowing us to collect the food at their store and allowing all of the groups to decorate their Christmas tree.
