We strive to camp once every month during the school year. As well as summer camp and 1 high adventure camp. Due to age and rank requirements, in 2010, only 2 scouts and 1 adult leader attended Philmont Scout Ranch where they completed a 90 mile trek in 12 days. In summer 2011, we are planning on attending Sea Base in the Florida Keys. Contact us for more information.

Troop 729 strives to help local food bank in 3 separate drives during the year. The first, the annual Boy Scouts of America food drive takes place in mid winter (usually around February). The other two projects are sandwich drives sponsored by Congregation Shearith Israel. Their members donate food in the form of sandwiches, snacks, and fresh fruit which Troop 729 takes down to the Austin Street Shelter twice a year to help with distribution. It is a good community service project that also helps our young men realize that not sometimes life can throw challenges.
