Troop 729 is one of Dallas' oldest Troops. We are sponsored by the Temple Emanu-El Brotherhood (since 1919), although we have boys from all religious and social backgrounds. We meet (calendar) Mondays at 7:29pm - 8:30pm at the Preston Hollow Elementary School. Our Troop strives for two patrol meetings a month, one general troop meeting, and one campout a month where the scouts can work on Merit Badge and Advancement. We are always looking for new opportunities for our scouts to do primitive camping, backpacking, sailing, fishing, shooting and other exciting events. We also do service projects as a troop and individually (twice a year at Austin Street Shelter, as well as other projects). We are always looking for more service projects.Parent Meetings are held as needed (usually coincindental to the Troop/Patrol Meetings).
Scouting is about helping our boys grow and mature as they become young men. We teach them skills, leadership and responsibility so they can become leaders in the community.. Troop 729 is sponsored by the Brotherhood of Temple Emanu-El, an auxiliary of Temple Emanu-El. “Temple Emanu-El and its auxiliaries affirm the human right values at the core of the Jewish tradition. Neither Temple Emanu-El nor any of its auxiliaries discriminates on the basis of race, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability”. | Interested in Philmont 2012 - WE HAVE WON A SLOT TO PHILMONT IN
