Get ready for something new! Showers in our campsite, Adventure to Eagle Program, High Adventure Rangers Program, Diversity of Merit Badges Summer camp provides great opportunities for Scouts for advancement, fun and personal growth. Whether you are a first year Scout working on basic advancement requirements, an older Scout focusing on merit badges, or an experienced Scout looking for high adventure opportunities at a moderate cost, summer camp is the most “must do” activity on the troop’s calendar. Consider the fact that the Troop spends 51 weeks of the year not in summer camp and that in this one week, each Scout receives 144 hours of concentrated Scouting... while a Scout attending Troop meetings for one year accumulates about 75 hours of Scouting. Sign-up and go! Troop 714 has never been to Camp Old Indian before, but we are ready to participate in everything it offers! Camp Old Indian is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. The average temperature in July is 79 degrees. The Dining Room seats approximately 425 persons and utilizes cafeteria-style serving lines. Camp Old Indian houses its campers and leaders in permanent housing. Our campsite is comprised of adirondacks. Adirondacks are three sided units with an over-hanging roof. Most hold four persons and their gear. Some adirondacks hold eight persons and have a built-in table shelter.
