TRIPS FOR THE 2012 and 2013 SEASON TRIPS FOR THE 2011 AND 2012 SEASON Mar. 23-25: The troop will spend a weekend at Pocono Environmental Education Center. Scouts will sleep in cabins and eat their meals at the dining hall. Scouts will learn about the environment through games and fun. Apr. 13-15: The troop is booked in for a weekend at the Lewis Morris County Park. The troop will sleep in our tents and possible activities for the weekend are outdoor skills, compass course, Fireman ship and Totn’ chip! May 18-20: The troop is considering spending a weekend in Massachusetts, and doing the Freedom Trail in Boston. The Freedom Trail is a 2 1/2-mile hike one way through two and a half centuries of America’s past in downtown Boston. The trail ends at the U. S. S. Constitution in the Charlestown shipyard. This walking tour permits visitors to discover more than fifteen historical sites. Only nine miles from downtown Boston, Sayre Reservation is an excellent stopover-housing site for troops visiting historic Boston, Salem, Lexington, or Concord. Public transportation and parking is located within 15 minutes of Sayre.July 22-28: The troop is considering spending a week at Ockancikon Scout Reservation. The camp offers more than 50 merit badge opportunities and a Olympic size pool. The merit badge program is designed to help you meet your own personal advancement goals while having fun.
