Summer Camp 2009

Summer Camp - July 19-25 - Beautiful Camp Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan near Antigo, WI.

Mark your Calendar! Summer Camp is around the corner!

Think about spending time in the Northwoods of Wisconsin earning merit badges, making friends and just having fun. Adults are needed to chaperone the scouts so please think of possibly helping out for the week or part of the week. Camp is the quickest way to rank advancement. The whole camping experience is centered around earning merit badges and advancing from Scout to First Class.

We will be in Lewis-A site.

Camp costs about $275.00 for the week plus $20-25 spending money for camp T-shirts etc. The final amount of this charge is primarily determined by the amount of Scouts we have signed up by the deposit due date. Adult leaders are 120.00 / week. If you (parent) come up for a day or two you must purchase meal tickets at the camp office when you arrive.

Certain merit badges carry an extra fee. Horsemanship is 30.00 and other badges such as wood carving, basketry and leatherwork require you to purchase an inexpensive kit at the scout store so send your boys to camp with some spending money.

There will be a Parent / Scout meeting at St. Thomas, regarding Summer Camp, on July 6th for final details...

PLEASE check to be sure that Tony Lees has all Medical Forms, Insurance Cards, Prescription Forms, Dietary Forms, and that Scoutmaster Dan can see tentative Merit Badge selections.

  • Scouts must have an updated physical form every year. While the doctor's signature is good for 3 years in most cases, the parent/guardian signature must be updated annually. Adults over 40 must have a physical EACH year. NEW Medical forms for Scouts and adults are available at http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/34605_Letter.pdf
  • All forms and merit badge selections are due on June 15.
