The next Court of Honor is May 15. Contact Mr. Cauthen about rank advancements and/or merit badges. Do not wait to contact him until the week before Court of Honor!

The troop will be going to Frankie's Fun Park on May 22. Every ticket collected is worth 25 cents.

The Asbury Hills Campout is this weekend. See Mr. Tabb if you have any questions

For all those going to summer camp, the part "C" of the medical form is required. The evaluation must have been preformed after July 1, 2011. The form must be signed and dated by a MD. Please give it to Mr. Clayton. For those scouts going to summer camp, we must know which Merit Badge Classes you are going to take by May 11. Please see Mr. Bennett to sign up.

OA elections are this Tuesday. Those who are first class, have at least 15 nights camping and have been to summer camp within the past two summers are eligible. Anyone who is eligible needs to talk to Mr. Raven to make sure his name is on the ballot.

Money from camp cards sales are DUE from all Troop 260 Scouts this Tuesday. If you have not sold all the cards you took, please bring the money for the ones you have sold and ALL unsold camp cards to the meeting. We have a deadline to send the one half proceeds to Blue Ridge Council (or the cards) and our Troop incurs a penalty if we miss the deadline - It costs us money.

If you are going to summer camp and have not paid the deposit, you are PAST DUE!! The deposit is now $80. Also, we are running out of spaces!! We need to know ASAP who is going. Please see Lawrence Dubose to register and make your payment. For all those going to summer camp, the part "C" of the medical form is required. We are now taking orders for T-shirts. Please see Mr. Senn to place your order. The shirts will be yellow with the troop logo on the front and "Rappelling man" on the back.

The campout in May is to Asbury Hills camp. We will be doing a COPE course and Zip line amongst other things. If you are going, we need to know this week. Please sign up to reserve your spot. See Mr. Tabb if you have any questions.

All patrols are to have a patrol flag no later than April 24.

Eagle Project

There is an Eagle project at Paris Mountain on April 28th. This project is for Jack Tabb's Eagle rank. Contact Jack at 864-979-1934. This project will be a great oppurtunity for service hours. Follow this link to see the flyer.

IMPORTANT!!

IMPORTANT!! PLEASE READ THIS!!

Per the safe scouting guidelines, it is required for 
ALL participants, both youth and adult, that partake in water sports activities with the BSA to pass the boy scout swimmer's test prior to the activity. If you passed the swimmer's test within the past 12 months (i.e. at summer camp last July,) then you do not have to take it again. If you have not taken the test in the past 12 months and wish to participate in the canoeing at the congaree national park, then you must take and pass the swimmer's test. If you are not canoeing but are still going on the campout, then you do not have to take the test either. The troop leadership is attempting to find a date and locale in which to administer the test to all those who need it. If you have any questions, please talk to Mr. Raven or Mr. Clayton.

Court of Honor

The Court of Honor this Tuesday (February 14th) starts at 6:30 for dinner, and the awards portion starts at 7:00. The uniform for all Scouts is their field uniform (formerly known as the Class A)

Aviation Campout

For those going on the campout this weekend, please remember one very important item when packing. We will be sleeping on a concrete hanger floor so unless you don't mind sleeping on solid rock, please bring a cot/ air mattress/ sleeping pad, or something similar. Do not forget to fill out one of the special release forms that Mr. Clayton has. If you do not fill this out and signed by your parents, you will not get to fly. Also, bring paper and a writing instrument. We will be doing merit badge work and that requires writing. Be at the church at 4:30 and we will leave when everyone gets there. We will return at 1pm on Sunday. If you have any further questions, please call Mr. Raven or Mr. Clayton.
