Information and Frequently Asked Questions for First and Second Year Scouts

The first weeks, months, and year of Scouting can be pretty confusing. We've put together some resources that should help you. You should absolutly feel comfortable asking any of the Ancient Warriors any questions you may have about the troop and our activities.

For the parents of our new Scouts who want to become adult volunteers and leaders, WELCOME! You will need to take a couple of online courses to become familiar with the regulations we follow to be sure our outings are SAFE for our kids. You will need to got to the MyScouting site, and create an account there. https://myscouting.scouting.org
(A): If you are just now crossing over or joining, you will NOT have a BSA member number. Go ahead and create an account, and take Youth Protection. YOU MUST TAKE YOUTH PROTECTION BEFORE YOU CAN BE A REGISTERED VOLUNTEER. After you receive your BSA membership number you can update your account with this information later
(B) You already have a BSA membership number; Create an account at MyScouting.org, and include your BSA number.
  1. Youth Protection. ALL Volunteers must complete this online course before becoming registered. ALL Volunteers must re-take the course EVERY TWO YEARS or you will not be allowed to re-register (This is a new requirement effective 6/1/2010)

To get your "trained" shoulder patch, pplease complete the following two on-line course, then you will need to take the "Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training", which is offered yearly through our District
