Welcome to the homepage for Boy Scout Troop 226. We hope to use this as a communication tool that is easy to use, always accessible and up-to-date for all of our current and prospective members. We meet from 7 to 8:30 every Tuesday night at King of Peace Episcopal Church, right next to Camden County High School.
Why 226?
The troop selected its number based on Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Brief History:
King of Peace Church chartered Boy Scout Troop 226 on June 29, 2004. Since the troop was new, a group of experienced Scouters has been among the group’s leadership. Scoutmaster Robert Davenport-Ray was a professional with the Boy Scouts of America. Pastor Frank Logue said, “As an Eagle Scout, I know how important it is to have the right leadership for a scout troop and we have been blessed with an amazing group of individuals who bring the right experience and ideals to the troop.” In addition to these seasoned scout leaders, the troop has in place some adults new to scouting and a full committee of adults taking care of the organizational aspects of the new troop. Since the it's origins, Troop 226 has grown to over 30 boys and has spawned the creation of both a Cub Scout Pack and a Venturing Crew. Troop 226 has also awarded four Eagle Scout awards.
