LAN Administration: Windows OS

Provides the knowledge and skills necessary to install and configure the Microsoft Windows Network Operating System (OS) for servers on stand-alone and client computers that are part of a workgroup or client-server domain. Includes installing the server OS, managing disks, installing and configuring network protocols, DNS, Active Directory services, setting up and managing user accounts and groups, network printers, auditing resources and events, Group Policy, managing data storage, backing up and restoring data, and network system recovery. CIS 101 or equivalent competency recommended.

- Lab 0 - Compare and contrast Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016.
- Lab 1 Install Windows Server.
- Send a document with screenshot to show proof.
- Complete Chapters 1-6 in Testout Prior to Exam 1
- Lab 2 Install Active Directory and join a Windows client machine to the Domain.
- Lab 2.5 Install Windows Server 2012. Promote DC. Transfer FSMO roles. Demote old 2008 DC- Raise the functional level to server 2012

Exams this term will be done on the TestOut platform

- Exam 1 will be published in Testout. It will cover chapters 1-6 from TestOut Labsim.

Available from 2/23/20 to 3/1/20

- Exam 2 Chapters 7 - 11 TestOut. Available from first week of April
- Exam 3 Chapters 12 - 15 TestOut. And, the certification Exam will be available from (Both exams)

Exam 3 is 25 Questions
Certification Exam is 18 Questions and you have 200 minutes.
70% is the passing score.

Via TestOut

Server 2016 Certification Exam will be schedule on week 14th. It will be available thru TestOut and it is comprehensive. If you pass this exam, you can add it to your resume and list of achievements!

I will also use this exam as a replacement for 100 point from your course grades.
