I am a fully-qualified practitioner in Shiatsu massage, a kind of complementary therapy. I work in the Muir of Ord / Beauly and Dingwall area, near Inverness in the highlands of Scotland.

Shiatsu is a traditional and gentle hands-on Japanese healing therapy using the acupuncture points and meridians. A variety of techniques are used on the fully clothed client. These may include gentle holding, pressing with palms, thumbs, fingers, elbows or knees to create a better flow of energy through the body. This is usually done on a futon at floor level but can also be done on a chair.

Shiatsu is a therapy that works on the individual as a complete being – not just the physical body but also on an emotional and/or mental level.

Having a Shiatsu treatment is a deeply relaxing experience, which helps to counteract stress and promote better sleep patterns and general wellbeing. Some people find that two or three Shiatsu treatments achieve the results they were looking for, but many people see regular Shiatsu sessions as helping them to cope with the stresses of modern life and maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit. Shiatsu can usefully supplement traditional medical treatment.
