It is said that the pious ones of old used to sit and meditate for an hour or more before praying  so as to concentrate their minds on God. ------------------------------------------------------------  ------------------------------------------------------ When you call on Me, and go and pray to Me, I will listen to you. When you seek Me you will find Me, if you search for Me with all your heart and all your being and life. Because the gates of prayer are never completely closed.  ----------------------------------------------------------- Into my heart's night Along a narrow way I groped,  and lo! a light  The Light!  THE LIGHT,  An infinite land of day/s  ---------------------------------------------------------- In every place where I cause MY NAME to be mentioned I will come to you and bless -------------------------------------- One purpose of prayer is to allow us to be alone with the Great Alone GOD and apart from others, to give us seclusion in the midst of the world.  We are to seek solitude also in the house of God even when it is crowded with people,  to be alone there also with ourselves and with the Great Alone, our God. If our lifeis to be filled with devoutness, we must from time to time abandon the ways of the world so that we may enjoy the inner peace with and of God.  ----------------------------------------------- |
