In the fall of 2008, the Dischords were wasting much time by developing a time machine so that Bryce could travel back in time and harmonize with himself. During testing (due to a programming mistake involving a turkey baster, a deck of playing cards, and Corey Stein), the time machine accidentally transported Michelle from Chálons en Champagne (which is in France, apparently) to present day Hartford, Connecticut, but not before dragger her through British Columbia in the late 70's, which probably explains the chainsaw. Fortunately, as tends to happen when the Dischords discover unusual people, Michelle turned out to have a lovely soprano voice, and some free time. The Dischords, after negotiating her chainsaw away from her decided it would be fun if she joined the group, so she did. Michelle enjoys reading, screaming like a French person, and smiling.
