The Trimarian encampment can be found in the area lovingly referred to as "The Bog" at the bottom of Runestone Hill. The quadrant is W17. It's a straight shot down Runestone Hill from the West Gate at the bottom of the hill. Download the map at the bottom of this page to help you orientate yourself.
The front entrance with the spiffy gate is located on Great Middle Hwy whereas the backdoor and unloading/loading zone is accessible from Runestone hill Hwy. It's a woodsy area with plenty of shade so you won't get baked when it gets hot. You might, however, get muddy feet when it rains. There is a reason they call us "Swamplords". There are porta-potties on either end of the encampment
Due to limited camp space you must be a current resident of the Kingdom of Trimaris to camp within the encampment.
You absolutely must sign up with the Trimarian Land-Agent for Pennsic War before registering on Pennsic.org. Send an email with the following information to him and wait for his confirmation before registering at Pennsic.org
Be prepared to not use all of your space (theoretically 250 sq ft/person) since we all have to "chip in" to create a common area for meals, kitchen, court, etc. Our land agent will do their best at land grab but occasionally there are problems with the site itself (mud holes, etc), neighboring property and/or having to absorb people we were not allotted for.
It is highly unlikely that you will starve at Pennsic. There is a food court where you can buy a variety of meals from HotDogs to elaborate dishes, there is the Cooper camping store and you will even find a small grocery store on site. Fastfood places and restaurants are only a short drive away. You can also live on PBJ sandwiches for a week without any harm. There will be NO Trimarian Encampment Meal Plan this year. You will, however, have access to the camp kitchen to cook up your own meals. Can I hook up my fan, TV, stereo, etc? What about charging my phone?
As far as electricity is concerned, there are a few power boxes on the upper edge of our encampment. One main line is strung for the kitchen and shower power. We give preference to all those needing power for medical reasons. If you need power , you have to bring your own extension cords (25-100 ft long, heavy duty, outdoor type). Expect to share lines especially if it is hot (to run fans).
You must help with camp duties in the encampment during your stay. In order to be an enjoyable encampment for all, we need your support and assistance. There will be a sign-up board for a variety of chores that need to be taken care of during the week. Come and sign up early so you can choose which chores to do. Camp duties include trash runs (emptying the trash bins and taking the trash to the dumpster - easy enough, 5'2", 140 pound people can do this with no problem) , disinfecting the showers, doing dishes, cleaning up after meals by putting away the food, moving chairs and tables, etc. Not signed up for a camp duty but seeing something that needs to be taken care of? Go ahead and take care of it! We will love you all the more! For 2 weeks, this encampment will become our home. Let's take care of it together. If you wish for this encampment and meal plan to continue, if not for yourself then for others who come to Pennsic after you, please lend a hand. |
