Elaine's Bio

A Gloucester, Massachusetts, native, Elaine has called Virginia home since 1977.  She is proud to be called a Virginian, and she considers her greatest vocational accomplishment to be heading the Orange County TRIAD Program -- the most active TRIAD in the commonwealth and one of the most active in the nation -- since 2001.  She takes her role as a senior advocate very seriously, and her seniors value her support, as evidenced by their support of the TRIAD program by volunteering their time and energy.  Elaine feels that one of the greatest assets she brings to her role as Coordinator is her vast management background, driven by an attitude that she doesn’t ask anyone managed by her to do a task or undertake a service that she herself hasn’t done and mastered.  She has started from the ground floor in all the jobs she’s had, which includes the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, where she began as a volunteer in 1998, helping the deputies with their paperwork and the office staff with their duties.  From those humble roots in the sheriff’s office, she has built TRIAD into a vibrant, busy program which offers eleven services to the diverse, active senior-citizen community in Orange County.
