Yup. This is some of the stuff that used to be called extreme. Remember when we could mountain bike or ski without having to wear helmets???? How about walking- I'm sure that before the decade is out, we'll have to wear kneepads/helmets/body armor just to walk to the store.

Most people, including me just last year, think that this sport is boring. Watching cars go round and round. Fun (yawn). Then Layla had the audacity to bring me to Michigan International Speedway last June for my birthday and I got HOOKED. This sport is so totally amazing to ALL senses- sight, smell, hearing, touch, taste, and yes, COGNITIVE functions. You won't know until you have experienced a race. Many people supposedly watch for the crashes- I do not. But, seeing these guys crash at 200 miles an hour can give the uninitiated a feel for how awesome this sport really is.
