The Three Minds of Black America: Tresconsciousness and the Twenty-First Century Lhea J. Copeland is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Lhea specializes in Africana Philosophy. Her primary area of interest is in Black Existentialism. Lhea is a poet, essayist and philosopher. Lhea’s writing, popular and academic, nonfiction and poetry, deals with the intersection of race and class and/or the effect of one’s society on the determination of one’s identity. Lhea received her baccalaureate degree in Philosophy and African-American Studies (minor) from the University of Michigan. Lhea has published two poetry collections: Brown Paths (2003) and Laughing Behind Closed Doors (2005). Her most recent projects 1. includes a series of papers, articles and essays surrounding the tresconsciousness of African-Americans and 2. a historical fiction piece pertaining to the impact of fraternal organizations on Black men.
