Craig Winterburn Came to us in September 2009 to deliver CPD Djembe training to SoundWaves music leaders. Craig came across as a highly knowledgeable, experienced and skilled Djembe drummer. His training reflected this high skill level and as a result was highly valuable to our organisation and staff. With this in mind SoundWave would like to continue a professional association with Mr Winterburn and foresee contracting him to deliver further workforce development activities as and when they arise in the future. Currently bidding to travel again in 2011 Who is Craig Winterburn? Craig Winterburn trained to be drum-kit player for 15 years before going back to college to study community arts. Now musician and a community artist working in and around Manchester. I have many years experience of leading drumming workshops to a variety of groups including children, youth, family, probation, drug rehabilitation, homeless festivals and corporate. My belief is that drumming is a great form of expression and can help emotional and physical development as well as being a great deal of fun. My workshops can be tailored to suit any requirements from beginners’ simple rhythms through to complex patterns for more advanced players. I am an accomplished African and contemporary drummer and have studied in Senegal and Gambia. I enjoy working with all types of people and I see students grow in many areas. They can develop core musical skills, increase their confidence and ability to communicate as well as enjoying working within a group dynamic. I derive great satisfaction from seeing the rewards of my work. A full range Djembes and doun douns are provided to accommodate a group of up to 30. Trained yearly, experienced, patient teacher studied with Guinean masters in Senegal, Gambia and England World wide comprehensive public liability insurance through the Musicians union No.452141 We are now running drum "care and repair" workshops.
