Allies for Transportation 24/7
Our goal: Public transportation is
available 24/7 everywhere
in Michigan.
UCP Michigan knows that people with disabilities face many barriers to transportation. We work to address these barriers and to eliminate as many as possible so that people with all disabilities can participate in their communities.
The Transportation Allies website offers:
A blog for breaking news and discussion of current transportation issues.
Links or downloads for transportation resources on a variety of topics.
Links to websites for other organizations that are committed to increasing the availability and usability of public transportation.
Information about training that is available on a variety of transportation issues.

Purpose of the project:
Through a grant from the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council, UCP Michigan is developing and compiling information to teach people about transportation issues and services. UCP Michigan is also working to help RICCs and other local groups learn how to advocate for better transportation.
The grant works closely with the Transportation Work Group of the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council. Work Group members and other advocates can get information about the workgroup and its meetings on this site.
