People’s Movement AssemblyHealing Health Justice & Liberation Friday, June 25 • 1:00pm – 5:30pm, Cobo Hall • Room W2-67 grassroots healers, medical practitioners, & health justice organizers are coming together to build, to strategize, to transform the role of healing in liberation Our Vision is… Our vision is to dream for organizing and uplifting the role of healing inside of liberation to transform our conditions, generational trauma and violence. Our proposed goals are… - We will map the frequencies of where we are in our movements to ground us in our vision towards strategies of sustaining and resourcing our collective wellness.
- We will create spaces that value and honor equal exchange of resources/energies/economies towards obtaining new models for wellness that restore the earth and are adaptable to current state of our emotional/spiritual/physical/psychic and environmental conditions.
- We will locate the bridges and paths that connect us to memories, dreams and our ancestral legacy of healing traditions towards new models of healing and justice inside our communities and movements.
Our questions will be…- How do we redefine and unpack ‘healthy’ and ‘healing’?
- What are our shared understanding, memories and knowledge of the role of healing practices inside of liberation?
- What are family/community, private/state and our movements doing to promote wellbeing & quality of life?
- How are we going to sustain, support and build healers, organizers, collectives and communities to maintain and resource healing practices within a liberatory, historical and political framework?
- What tools and strategies can we build to promote wellbeing and quality of life?
- How do we transform systems of medicine and wellness into mechanisms of response to our conditions, generational trauma and violence?
